That's not part of the barrel if you expand the picture you can see the barrels stainless in color and much thiner. This is a barrel shroud or fake suppressor but can't find any information saying what it is. But yes you can add a suppressor to this no problem. Hope this helps.

Keith, the barrel is not that thick as it uses an un-screwable barrel shroud. You can use a suppressor as the Barrel is threaded for chokes. Comes with Full, Modified, and Skeet/Cylinder chokes.
