Out of the two I'd pick the apx. But personally I'd stick with your initial thought and go with the canik. Buds has a canik tp9 sf elite in stock buds item number 415009872, just type that into buds search and it'll pop up. It only holds 10 rounds and is a fantastic pistol. I own one with the standard 15 round magazine and great pistol, honestly for the price don't think you could get much better, great trigger, extremely accurate, not horrible on recoil, big enough to be pleasant at the range and small enough to conceal carry and even comes with a holster although I'd eventually get a better one cause the holsters not the greatest. Other than that think it's the best option. Hope this helps.
