  • Would any have any input on the Ruger Predator vs Savage Axis II both in .308. Is the Ruger worth the extra $100 compared Savage. I appreciate any feedback on this any pros or cons on each ?

  • You will get a good rifle with either of the two. but here is where James and I disagree. I find that for me a little extra cost is worth it to get the Ruger customer service. May be my bias showing as Ruger went way beyond on a problem I had with a 35+ year old single six that had been shot to death. But I would have no problem owning the Savage or the Ruger

  • Drake, I can't answer about the Ruger but in March Guns Tests Magazine tested a Mossberg, 2x Remingtons (783 and 700), and a Savage in 308 win. The Remington 783 got an "A" grade and Savage got a "B" grade. The Remington was a (Best Buy) also as it was cheaper. budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/97344/Remington+783+W%2FSCP+308+22+MAT />

  • You will get a dependable and accurate rifle with either. Savage has long been recognized as being reliable and accurate out of the box. Build quality is similar on both rifles. I may be a little biased as a Savage owner, but I would put my Savage up against more expensive firearms any day of the week. The $100 won't get you any more benefit over the Savage.
