Nolan, yes it is Ohio legal. As far as ammo, any 12 gauge 2 3/4" or 3 " shells will work, target, birdshot, buckshot, or slugs. Check your owners manual to see if a certain velocity is recommended, some semi-autos have trouble cycling lower velocity shells. You should be good with at least 1200 fps, but some recommend 1300 fps. Have a great day!
