Other than the weight 1911 are great carry guns their narrow profile conceals very well. The heavy weight requires a good quality gun belt and holster. I carry 1911s of all sizes and the BELT is the key Good belt gun stays up and in place light belt gun droops and wants to cause SAG
Tad large and heavy. 45acp, not the best option
with a good holster and belt its a great cc firearm I carry a officers 1911 45acp as my EDC
It's a big heavy pistol for a carry gun in 45. Ruger makes a light weight version though in 9mm.

Taylor the SR1911 is viable for concealed carry. I carry a Smith and Wesson 1076 10mm and the 4.25 model is similar in size/weight. i am 6'1 and medium build and have no issues with CC. However, your comfort level will get more relaxed once you get accustomed to the weight.

You can conceal pretty much any pistol well with proper attire. 4.25" or "commander sized 1911s included. I carried a Colt Commander for a long time, but these days I prefer for the lightweight frame 1911s for more comfort. The downside is it'll have a little more felt recoil, but the weight savings is huge.
Here's the Ruger Light commander if you're interested.
