There will be a transfer fee that you pay to your FFL, which can range from $25-100, so it pays to shop around. The second fee will be for you background check (NICS), your FFL does not keep this money, it goes to the state. This should be about $15. Other than that, you need a gov't issued ID. Your Real ID should be all you need, unless you live in an anti-friendly 2A state, in which case you will also need FOID or FID card. (Firearms ID card) It is really quite simple. Depends on where you live. In most States you will only need a driver's license or state ID. In states like California you would need a license to purchase a firearm. Picking up is very simple, you just fill out a 4473 form for your background check, give the FFL dealer you're license and if you pass the background check you pay the transfer fee and go home with your firearm.
