This is solid short to mid range cartridge capable of taking any North American game at these stated distances. It has been supplanted by many modern day cartridges that recoil less and kill as efficiently at the same and much much longer distances. It's a workhorse albeit "long in the tooth" and I would have regulate it to "Safe Queen" collectible status that can still occasionally put meat on the table.

Very popular here in the Adirondack Mtns. Of New York where the shots are under 150 yards. A very old cartridge that is probably most used in reloading. Pretty much kicks like a beefed up 30-06.

It's a great close range weapon for medium to large game and an EDC choice of many who live where bears will kill and eat you. I've owned 4 over the years and enjoyed hunting and shooting with them. The biggest down side is that it is very expensive to shoot them and as I've aged I don't like to be kicked that much anymore.
