John, it sure is. This will handle +p ammunition just fine. All of rock island armorys pistols are rated for +p. They recommend limited use as all manufacturers do because +p ammo can wear parts quicker than standard velocity ammo but unless you're shooting thousands of rounds I doubt you'll ever notice a difference vs standard velocity ammo.
