  • Alan, The Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics Optima 12 Gauge 3 inches hunting shot-shells are loaded with 1-3/4 oz of their #5 lead shot. They provide a comfortable level of recoil and have a documented muzzle velocity of 1330 feet per second. The Golden Pheasant features nickel plated 1-3/8 oz of #6 lead shot which ensures that the shot pellets are extra hard and has a muzzle velocity of 1485 fps. Have a great day!

  • Alan, there is a slight difference in payload weight and velocity. The Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics Optima is 1-3/4 oz of #5 Lead Shot at muzzle velocity of 1330 fps and the Golden Pheasant is 1-3/8 oz of #6 Nickel Coated Shot at 1485 fps. Nickel plated shot deforms less than straight lead shot and patterns slightly better at distance. Cheers and stay safe!
