  • What is the difference in the various prices of the S&W 642 revolver? I understand the Performance model pricing, but some of the standard models differ by 10-20 dollars, why?

  • Jeff, they have slight differences. Upc number 022188038101 doesn't have an internal key lock wich is a little hole that makes it so you can disable the trigger. That and it has a black/stainless finish. Upc number 022188638103 has an internal key lock and has a matte silver finish. Other than that they're identical. Buds also has ones marked qp/qualified professionals Wich they're both the same as the two I just described but at a discount for law enforcement. So pretty much just depends if you want the internal key hole lock or not, know most people don't like them Wich is something to think about if you ever would try to resell it. Hope this helps.

  • Jeff, this is simple. Buds prices are tied to stock level and similar models can have price differences based on number of each in stock. Higher stocked firearms are less and lower stocked firearms are higher in price. Cheers and stay safe!

  • Bud's website updates every 20 minutes, 24/7, with their current inventory and replacement cost. They do not price their guns manually based on their cost in each, instead they use a live download from manufacturers and distributors to set their price based on their current replacement cost. As their cost changes, the corresponding website price of each make/model will change up/down accordingly. Although the profit margin remains unchanged, their advertised prices will change frequently, sometimes several times per day.
Hope this helped, have a great Day!
