Your firearms description refers to 45 long colt. According to my reloading manuals there is no such caliber, people often refer to the 454 colt as long colt. Before I pluck down or commit to a purchase I want to know. Are they the same?

Hello James, .45 Colt and .45 Long Colt are the same cartridge. Some time ago, the .45 Colt started being referred to as the .45 Long Colt to differentiate it from the shorter .45 Smith & Wesson—often referred to as the .45 Schofield, adopted in 1875. Nowadays, most people simply refer to it as .45 Colt. Stay safe & have a great day!
