If I was looking for lighter recoil I would opt for a 30-30 in the same rifle you want less recoil and more ammo options available

The lowest recoiling loads Buds has to offer will be the 300gr JHP's. I would personally choose the "Flex Tip" for deer : budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/656_2081_10000750/products_id/23906/Hornady%2045-70%20Government%20325%20Grain%20Flex%20Tip/ Buffalo Bore has a nice lower recoiling hunting load here : buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=383
