  • The Beretta Pico 380 hands down :-)
If you want a little bit more punch, Glock 43 (9mm Luger) Some women have difficulty with semi-auto handguns, as they don’t have the hand strength to rack a round in the chamber or they just have difficulty in general with semi-auto handguns, therefore I would recommend a Taurus 605B2 Revolver .357 (also can shoot .38 cal rounds)
Stay away from the S&W bodyguard or the Taurus curve(you would be disappointed) Keep in mind, whatever you choose please make sure you practice & get comfortable so that you are confident in the firearm that you are carrying just in case you would need to use it in a Emergency. If possible, join a sports club with a shooting range, or look for shooting course class or even women in the outdoors programs to help get proficient as well. Happy Shooting

  • Taurus TCP with wings. My wife has one, I hate it and she loves it. She shoots .380, 9mm and long guns, but the TCP is her favorite carry choice.

  • I would suggest the Taurus Curve .380 ACP. It's extremely compact, very ergonomic for small hands, and comes with an integrated light and laser. Its currently only $20 dollars more than the Pico on Buds. Recoil is about the same as the Pico, but the Curve is 1oz lighter. Hard to beat Berreta's reputation for reliability though.

  • The most user friendly (ease to rack the slide) for most women I see at the range is the SIG 238.

  • Yes it is Helen. There are other viable options as well such as what's listed here : budsgunshop.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=380 -- The Taurus, Ruger, Smith and Wesson and Remington are in the same league as the Pico and with slightly heavier weight will have less recoil. (A local gun store should have most if not all of these to handle first hand to get an idea of weight and ergonomics).

  • Yes the Beretta Pico 380, S&W M&P Shield or the Walther PPS M2 These would be the Top 3 choices.
