Kevin, the gun itself is fine for squirrel hunting, but you would want to change the included extra-full turkey choke tube with a modified or improved cylinder choke tube.

Hi Kevin and welcome. This is fine as is for squirrels. #6 shot is all else you need. Reminds me of the scene from The Outlaw Josey Wales when the soldiers are surrendering and turning in their firearms and the young lad says about his rifle......
