John, Kimber makes great and definitely good looking pistols. It does have a safety on the left side for right handed shooters. Pros, first it's a 1911 Wich is one of if not my favorite pistol design, they're reliable and accurate, good triggers, heavy but that means less recoil. Cons, the magazine is single stack so doesn't hold as many rounds as double stack pistols, if you plan to carry they're heavy, other than that great pistols. Just depends what you're looking for. If you want a carry gun there's definitely smaller/lighter options. For a fun range toy they're hard to beat. Hope this helps and you're very welcome.
