Hi, purchased a Colt 1911 .45 for my better half who's birthday is at the end of the month. Was looking into customizing it for him, it's his 45th birthday... Do I go with custom grips with his birthdate engraved, if so, what are the best kind to get? I had a gentleman at a local gunshop tell me to engrave the slide with the birthdate... I know this is going to be sentimental to him regardless. Just unsure of which way to go. Purchased the Colt Gold Cup Lite in stainless for reference. TIA!
