  • Charles, yes sir, all Taurus 856 revolvers in .38Sp are +P rated. Even if your Taurus firearm is rated for Plus-P (“+P”) ammunition, such ammunition generates pressures significantly in excess of the pressures associated with standard ammunition. Such pressures may affect the useful life of the firearm or exceed the margin of safety built into many firearms. Unless you need +P ammunition, do not use it, particularly for practice.

  • Yes, this model is +P rated. As mentioned below though, I wouldn't feed any gun a steady diet of +P ammo. I mean, if you're looking for something packing a bit more punch/velocity for self defense ammo then sure but, as Ed mentioned, definitely not for range day or plinking practice.

  • Hi Charles and welcome. Yes, it is factory +P rated. Be sure and increase your service and inspection routines as a steady diet of +P will cause more wear and tear on the pistol. Cheers and stay safe!
