Hi Tim, your wife can not pick up firearms for you. You need to fill out the paperwork and the FFL will run a background check. This can only be done by the person purchasing the gun.

The ONLY person who can pickup any firearm ordered online would be the purchaser/transferee. I'm sure if you alert your FFL they'll have no issues with holding it until you return. Otherwise, have your wife create an account here, then order/purchase and then she can pick it up when it arrives at FFL and complete the transfer/background.

Hi Tim, unfortunately no Sir. Only the transferee can pickup the firearm. Just have the FFL Dealer hold the firearm until your return. Cheers and stay safe! The ATF does not allow straw purchases and there should not be any appearances of straw purchases. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

the official answer for firearms is no. The best way is to make a account in her name and her order and pay for the gun it would be her gun which she can gift to you

The actual transferee/buyer is the only one who can accept the transferred firearm legally, not someone else on their behalf. If you are out of town I would simply contact your FFL dealer and explain your situation and ask whether they will hold it for you. This should be quite a common occurrence for dealers, I know that my usual dealer has been happy to hold orders for months.
