NFA registration Tax Stamp SBR AR15

Thank James. Your response was helpful! So to understand better, if I purchase an SBR I do an NFA registration? Plus the tax stamp. What does that entail? Is there a waiting period? Also does that apply if I choose to purchase an AR15 as well? Thank you again!
