So I am looking for a nice optic for my ddm4v7, between this and an eotech which would be better suited for close quarters out to 100 yard range and tactical training exercises, unsure which would be the better choice being that this is 4x would there be any pros or cons at close quarters over the eotech?

Trijicon ACOG 4x 32mm Red Chevron Reticle Rifle Scope

Hi Jeremy and welcome. It is kind of like apples to oranges.. My Buddy has an Eotech, it is reliable. Granted any device that relies on batteries can be prone to failure because you will be dependent on the batteries. I'm a big trijicon fan, they make good stuff. The acogs seem to be really well built. I don't own one, mainly because I prefer a 3-9 on my AR rather than fixed magnification. Both optics you are talking about are decent optics, in the end Its more personal preference. Reliability I think leans more toward acog as far as dependability, no batteries. However no matter how tough any piece of equipment is anything can be broken. The Eotech is best suited for CQB and the ACOG's 4x for out to 100 yards. I would get the ACOG in 8 out of 10 scenario's. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
