I ' m trying to decide on buying this model or one with a 16.5 inch barrel?????????

see if you can find a place that will let you handle them in both barrel lengths and chose the one you like and will be happy with

Accuracy is a product of the quality of a barrel and is not tied solely to length. Your primary use of the rifle should dictate the length of the barrel. Mostly defense with occasional target/hunting = 16" & mostly target/hunting with concessional defense = longer barrel.

I would go with the longer barrel for accuracy and velocity
