I just bought a brand new New Model Ruger Blackhawk 41 magnum and I opened the loading gate and then closed it and was still able to index the cylinder is this normal?

I have googled Eaa guns and come up with bad and good reviews ranging from customer service to more serious things. I love the price and .44 mag is more useful than the 45 lc I'm considering from pietta. Make your case with me about the pros and cons of Eaa .44 mag please.
