Experts - please explain is there danger in store-bought 308 in a rifle stamped as 7.62 mm? I've been told in the past that 7.62 ammo in 308 rifle is safe. Is the reverse true for a rifle such as this for stock ammo (not specialized handloads)?

I just purchased a savage 112 in 338 Lapua. The rifle seems to have 8x40 screw fittings for the scope rail. This was not mentioned on the Savage web site. What rail should I use for the Accutrigger, 8x40 338 rifle.

Bought idk 10-12 guns from buds was denied out of the blue in my NICS this last time, I have not received my firearm from my FFL and and concerned in the time it will take to get this all worked out tho I’ve never even been in hand cuffs. Anyone know how many days I have to return it to buds? I’d rather have it but never really had to deal with this.

I've already ordered 1 clip that said it fit the 30.06 Springfield, but it was too long for my Browning 1959 30.06. Will this 1 work? I was told the clip for my rifle needs to be pre 1993.
