I reside in Virginia and purchased a mossberg 590 shockwave at the gun show maybe 2 years back. I just started looking at the print out they gave me about the ATF AND SERIAL # and so on. I notice this print out seems to be generic and online. The serial # does not match my 590. What can/ should do?

When a firearm is placed on layaway, in October, for example, and payments are made in October, November, December and finally it is then paid off in January before the 90 days of course, what is the purchase date on the receipt? In other words, what date was the firearm actually purchased? First payment or final payment?

I've seen a bunch of different responses with this inquiry; however, no one has specifically answered the question. Is the fee related to a percentage of the gun value? Is the fee fixed (it will always be $X no matter the firearm value)? I've tried the LiveChat, but that is a joke. You can't get past the menu selections, so I couldn't find out directly that way either. Any recent, specific help is greatly appreciated.
