I am wondering about the type of grip included on the Desert Eagle 357 stainless barrel/black frame, DE357ASIMB. Are the grips shaped with the finger grooves as in the picture? or are they the thinner plastic grips that do not have grooves?

Which position is safety on, up or down? I have a M&P 45 and when the lever is up its in safety mode which I usually inadvertantly push safety because of grip. I do not like the safety being in the up position.
