  • Hello, I have a new England firearms pardner model sb1 12 ga older gun (single shot) not sure how old. but I'm trying to find a 3 1/2 in chamber with cylinder bore and can hold an ejector (Since I all ready have the ejector for the 3in chamber with a modified choke) Im trying to find it but it doesn't seam out there.
another thing can someone please explain the pros and cons for both fixed barrels and the screw in chokes?
Thank you all for your time

  • Hi Kyle, On a fixed choke gun, the taper is all in the last inch or two, the same as most of the earlier version screw in tubes. Recently tubes have gotten longer, so if anything, a newer tubed gun probably has a longer choke section than an older fixed choke gun. There really are no functional differences. On the 3.5 inch chambered barrel I would ask Harrington & Richardson and New England Firearms Customer Service for advice at Phone: (866) 776-9292

  • sorry to tell you but to go to a 3.5 inch gun with screwin chokes it would be much cheaper to buy a new gun screwin chokes just give you many more options what James said was true in some fixed choke guns but some had a longer smoother transition to the final choke
