Additionally, the existing barrel's thread pattern may not match the suppressor's requirements, or the suppressor's mounting system might need a particular thread type or length, which could necessitate a different barrel.

Hi Bruce and welcome to the forum. Threaded barrels give you the option of adding suppressors, compensators and flash hiders. It gives you a path of future upgrades well beyond the standard non threaded barrel. The extra length also increases muzzle velocity for higher bullet energy as well, for more effective stopping power and less bullet drop from point of aim at longer distances.
