  • I’m looking at the Kimber Rapide OR. What does the OR stand for? Optics Ready? If so how do I find out what footprint will fit directly to the slide so I can use iron sight back ups.

  • Sir David,
You are correct! The "OR" in the Kimber Rapide OR stands for "Optics Ready." Kimber typically provides detailed specifications for their optics-ready slides, including the type of mounting footprint used. Common footprints include Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint, or others. To ensure compatibility with backup iron sights, verify whether Kimber’s slide uses a common footprint like RMR or another standard. If you can share the exact model you are referring to we can recommend options. Please take care and stay safe Sir David 🙏

  • OR=optics Ready.
Meaning, the slide has been cut to accept an Optic. In this case, the footprint on it is an RMR.

  • Hi David and welcome. OR + Optics Ready meaning the slide if factory Optics Cut for installation of a Red/Green Dot Sight. I would stick with the highly popular RMR/Holosun C footprint: https://store.kimberamerica.com/optic-plate-trijicon ------ Cheers and stay safe!
