  • COMPARING KIMBER 357 MAGNUM 2" 6RD REVOLVER WITH RUGER SP101 357 MAGNUM 2.25" 5 RD REVOLVER.
KIMBER 23 OZ, RUGER 26OZ. KIMBER 6 RDS, RUGER 5 RDS. SHOULD I OPT FOR THE LIGHTER 6 ROUND OR THE HEAVIER 5 ROUND REVOLVER. THINKING THE HEAVIER MAY BE MORE ACCURATE. COULD BECOME TIRING TO CARRY. KIMBER IS LIGHTER. MAY NOT BE AS ACCURATE. LIGHTER WEIGHT MAY MAKE IT EASER TO CARRY .
    LOOKING FOR IMPUT AND OPINIONS.
    THANKS

  • Hi Chester and welcome. I would opt for the lighter 6rd Kimber. Accuracy will not be that much of a difference and with just a little practice, likely no difference at all, especially at self-defense ranges. The lighter carry weight &, one extra round is more than enough benefit to justify the choice. Comfort and capacity are the name of the game these days when accuracy is similar. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

  • Okay, I just watched a video from Hickok 45 on this very matter, he went through many of the lightweight revolvers in .357. Personally, I'd Go Ruger Sp101 ALL Day!!!

  • Honestly I'd opt for the heavier gun, 357 is a potent round yo be using in such a short barrel already. I have a few kimber revolvers and they perform very well. Hope this helps. Stay safe!

  • Good evening to you!! You got to look at longevity of the mentioned firearms. The Ruger SP101 has been around much longer than the Kimber. This means more options for after market grips, holsters ect...I personally think the SP101 is a much better pistol. Just because it's been around long enough to work all the kinks out of it. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.
