Hi Eddie, technically the answer is yes. If the intended recipient is present during the transaction and completes all necessary paperwork, they are considered the "actual buyer." This means you can pay for the firearm, but the recipient must fill out the required forms. This is not a straw purchase. It is no different than a husband and wife walking into a gun store where the husband buys a gun and the wife pays for it with her credit card. As long as the person who does the paperwork is the actual owner of the gun, it os ok.
Just to be sure, call your FFL and ask if they will allow it. Some FFL's are overly cautious.
