Upon checking reviews, the Heritage Coachwhip appears to be the more impressive and the Cimarron Coach is more of a heavy-duty workhorse for Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS).
Good evening to you!! What to you consider impressive? Modern aesthetic or replication of years gone by. The two I recommend are the Coachwhip by heritage arms for modern and the Cimmaron 1878. Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

depends, impressive how ? more modern features, lighter, fit and finish I would say the Heritage coachwhip. as a shooter looking for reliability and durability along with a more historical gun that is commonly used in cowboy action shooting the answer would be the Cimarron
Hi Jeffrey and welcome. Based on available reviews and specifications, the Heritage Coachwhip appears to be the more "impressive" offering in terms of modern fit, finish, and aesthetic appeal, while the Cimarron 1878 Coach Gun is a well-regarded, heavy-duty "workhorse" for Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS). The decision depends on whether you prioritize modern, refined aesthetics (Coachwhip) or a, heavy, rugged replica (Cimarron). Fit and finish are of equal quality. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!
Hi Jeffrey, The Cimarron 1878 is often regarded as a solid choice due to its historical accuracy and reliability, while the Coachwhip is known for its lightweight and maneuverability.
Both the Cimarron 1878 and the Coachwhip have their strengths. The Cimarron is often preferred for its durability and performance in competitive shooting, while the Coachwhip appeals to those looking for a lighter, more modern option. Ultimately, the choice depends on personal preference and intended use.
Stay safe & have a great day!

Both the Cimarron 1878 Coach Gun and the Heritage Coachwhip are designed as nostalgic, exposed-hammer, double-barrel shotguns, but they serve slightly different purposes based on weight, build quality, and aesthetic appeal.
The Heritage Coachwhip is generally considered more "impressive" in terms of out-of-the-box aesthetics and modern refinements. It features a case-hardened frame with unique coloring, black-chromed 18.5-inch barrels, and a refined walnut stock, often praised for its "heirloom-quality" look.
The Cimarron 1878 Coach Gun is often regarded as a more authentic, robust, "tank-like" reproduction of a period gun. It is heavier (approx. 8 lbs vs 6.7 lbs for the Coachwhip), which makes it better for recoil absorption, but it may require more "smithing" or break-in time to run smoothly.
Which is more impressive?
For Looks & Features: The Heritage Coachwhip is arguably the more impressive, polished, and modern-refined choice, often featuring better out-of-the-box craftsmanship.
For Tradition & Weight: The Cimarron 1878 is more impressive if you prefer a heavy, traditional, "no-nonsense" shooter, particularly for Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS).
For Authenticity/Cowboy Shooting: The Cimarron 1878 is widely considered the superior choice by SASS shooters due to its proven, robust, and historically-accurate design.
For Aesthetics/Modern Utility: The Coachwhip may appeal to those looking for a slightly shorter, newer, or more refined-looking gun right out of the box.
