  • Good afternoon to you!! The Walther pps m2 had a safety recall in 2018, limited to specific serial numbers for failed safety drop features. Serial numbers starting with AN-AU. It is recommended that you should check used Walther pps m2 to insure they have the safety recall repair mark (a dot inside the magazine well). Hope this helps. Have a good rest of your day.

  • Hi Stephen and welcome. The primary issue with the Walther PPS M2 was a significant 2018 safety recall for specific serial numbers where the pistol could fire if dropped, requiring a free repair from Walther Arms while some users experienced extractor issues or inconsistent trigger feel. -- Details here; -- https://waltherarms.com/recalls/pps-m2-recall --------- Cheers and stay safe!

  • Yes, some users have reported issues with the Walther PPS M2, most notably a major safety recall in 2018–2019 regarding the potential for the gun to fire if dropped. Other reported, though less common, issues include:
Safety Recall: Certain serial numbers (roughly date codes A through AU) may fail the drop test.
Mechanical/Functional Issues: Reports of failures with the extractor, failure to feed/extract, and issues with the magazine releasing rounds.
Part Quality: Some users have reported barrel peening or issues with sights becoming loose.
    Important Details:
Recall Scope: The recall affects specific PPS M2 models (not M1) shipped before roughly August 2018.
Solution: Walther Arms offers a free, quick fix (often within 2 weeks) for affected, recalled pistols.
Aftermath: Many users report that post-recall models are very reliable, accurate, and comfortable for concealed carry.
