Yes definitely!! The CZ 1012 G2 is a very reliable semi auto shotgun. The inertia drive system makes this firearm very reliable. The 20" barrel makes it fairly manageable in home defensive roles. The winchester super x 00 buckshot at 1325 fps. Is a good defensive ammunition. The action needs to be broken in prior to use in a defensive role so be sure the shoot it 100-200 times to break it in. You can speed up this process by leaving the bolt locked back when storing and cycle the action every chance. This will help set the springs and action. Happy shooting.

I'd still go with the Mossberg Shockwave for home defense but that's just my opinion.

You can speed up the break in by leaving the bolt locked back while storing and cycle the action as often as you can. Break in is usually 150-200 rounds of full power loads. Hope this helps you.
