FIRST OF ALL I TWO QUESTIONS ONE QUESTION IS, IS 45 COLT AND 45 LONG COLT THE SAME THING? AND NUMBER 2 WOULD RIFLE CHAMBERED IN 45 COLT OR LONG COLT WORK FOR HUNTING WHITETAIL DEER?

yes 45 colt and 45 long colt is the same cartridge. A 45 colt or 45lc in a rifle makes a very good short to medium range deer rifle

Shaun, yes, both are the same and will be very good "Deer Medicine" within ethical hunting distances given the cartridge. Keep it within 150yrds you are covered nicely.
