I am looking at a used Beretta 92FS the back sights have no dots front sight does seller said he bought it that way new my question can that be correct?

yes it was made that way on some 92FS models

Roger, yes, there was a model 92FS that had the Black dot less horizontal ridged rear sight. I have seen it at a gun show a few years back but, it was new at the time.

Yes Roger, some of them did come with the plain notched rear sight and a single white dot front wight.
