Are Springfield Armory magazines interchangeable..

Have a couple of magazines 16rd. 9mm from a XD 4" 1st Mod. and want to know if they would work with a 16rd. 9mm 5" 2nd Model.

No, Scott those particular magazines will not function for any model other than the model for which they were designed.

Scott, only the 9mm and 40S&W calibers Sir. The 45's are not due to a magazine catch notch design on the newer 45's.

the 9mm and 40 cal xd and xdm mags are not interchangeable but the 45acp is

XD and XD-M magazines are NOT interchangeable from one family to the other. XD mags will fill fit any XD (including Mod.2), but not XD-M. XD-M mags will ONLY fit XD-M firearms. I routinely use a 16rnd XD for my Mod.2- Fits and feeds just fine (is actually easier to load than the 10 round mags (probably because of spring design))
