The two are very similar Carolina. I had an SR22, and it was a good little pistol and was a great shooter for plinking and range fun. They aren't "target" pistols though, and while accurate enough for fun shooting, they aren't "tack drivers" as the old saying goes. I can say it was very reliable though, as I have found all Rugers to be. If you want a pistol strictly for bullseye shooting at the range, I strongly recommend the Mark IV or Mark III, with the 5 1/2" "bull" barrel. They will 'stack' the bullets. But the SR22 is a fun pistol to own, and Ruger has great customer service, should you ever need it.
