Richard, they are fairly close in features. The 600 is the better shotgun in my opinion. Either would work and would boil down to which stock pattern you like best.

Richard, The 600 comes in several gauges and barrel lengths. I like the satin hardwood finish on the 601. Charles Daly has an entire 600 line. The 600 series comes in 18.5" barrel home defense model. There is a over/under in 600 series. 600 is a whole series of Charles Daly shotguns. Many with Real Tree camo synthetic stocks. So your talking about the entire 600 series there is a lot to choose from. The 600 series that is as close to what 601 you have listed is here.
