  • When picking up a brand new (in S&W unopened box) rifle at my FFL, should I open and inspect it before
leaving the FFL? Or, open and inspect at home. It will have the manufacturer's warranty, of course. I'm assuming the box has
    no evidence of damage.

  • Open and Inspect BEFORE doing the paperwork. If there is a problem refuse it and have it sent back to Buds for replacement or refund.

  • Paul, Always open and inspect firearm at your FFL. No telling what you might find. If there is a problem return directly from your FFL.

  • Paul, you should open and inspect it before you do the paperwork. Some dealers want the transfer fee and usually start you on the paperwork first. Just kindly inform them of Buds policy for return in case there is an issue. Once the paperwork is complete, the firearm instantly becomes owned/used and you will have to go to the manufacturer for any issues.
