If I layaway a pistol am I provided with the serial number of the gun I will receive when I start layaway so I know the gun I started with is the gun I receive?

David, no Sir. Serial number is not provided until firearm reaches your FFL and you complete the transfer at which time you own the firearm. You can speak with Buds Customer Service to see if this policy has changed at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm M - F or 9am to 7pm on weekends.

No. You will not get a serial number until the firearm is in the hands of your selected FFL.
