how well can the aluminum alloy frame holds up to regular shooting of the 40 s&w ammo. i shoot 3-4 times a week (600rds or more)

Albert, I have thousands of rounds through aluminum alloy framed firearms. It is not nitrided or treated steel, but you should have no problem. The weight of aluminum alloy frame or shooting thousands and thousands of rounds are a trade off. 40 S&W eats up a lot of handguns. Check out the reviews on your specific handgun in question. If you have any doubts don't get it.

You won't have an issue with modern aluminum frame 40 pistols. For insurance I add a pound or two heavier recoil spring to mitigate some of the slide frame battering. on aluminum frame pistols. Slightly heavier if you shoot a steady diet of full power loads.
