  • Does any body know if you can remove the front sight on the Del-Ton Echo 316M ? It's in the way of any optics I try to put on the ar 15 !

  • Yes, the "correct" way would be removing the flash hider+crush washer and handguard then knock out the pins of the front sight post/gas block then slide it off the end of the barrel and replace it with a new lower profile gas block of your choosing. You would want to get a new crush washer for reinstalling the flash hider.
    If it were me I would just look into getting a correct mount for whatever optic you are trying to use. Not sure which optic you are looking at but nearly all red dot sights on the market are available with taller mounts to achieve 1/3 or absolute cowitness with AR iron sights. These taller mounts are also often necessary just to get a proper sight picture on an AR due to the stock being directly inline with the barrel.
