Can\'t go by the box on this. Ammo companies often say +P when it is no more than standard pressure. And some are very serious about it (like Buffalo Bore and Double Tap) It is more advertising than reliable information. Find out the pressure of the ammo you want to use (by asking the manufacturer or getting one of their own charts, and make sure it does not exceed the pressure Kimber recommends. Personally, I only run 124 grain through any of my nines. I find it the best all round performance. But in short barrels especially. Each gun is different though, so experiment with what your gun works best with, keeping it within the pressure limits.

When considering +P ammo it's always a good idea to consult OEM. It may function fine or you could ruin a fine $$$ firearm and get 0 support from OEM because you didn't follow ammo requirements. ALL owners manuals I have with pistols state wether it's +P rated. Be safe.

Before running +P ammo, consult with Kimber customer service. If you run +P ammo through your handgun and end up needing to have it serviced under warranty, the running of +P may void the warranty. You firearm may handle it with no issues. In my owners manual, under Operation, Kimber specifically states "Do not use +P ammunition because its pressures could exceed SAAMI maximums and result in an unsafe condition that may cause death, serious injury or property damage"

Patrick, yes Sir. Due to the shorter barrel 124gr is max recommended weight for optimum, function. That said, I have fired Underwood +P 147gr without issue.
