  • I live in NY so shooting is a fun thing where I need to go to a range. I would like to purchase a rifle, but stuck on what meets my needs.
I was look at RUGER 10/22 INTERNATIONAL SS/WD .22 LR, but for $383, i felt it is too serious for an occasional use.
The others I am looking at are:
    1. Savage 64 64FXP Semi-Auto .22 LR Sythetic Scope Savage
    2. Savage 45100 64FVXP .22 LR W/SCP
    3. Ruger 10/22 Carbine .22 LR
Which one should I consider? Or is there other ones that would meet my needs?

  • Isaac, Any or all of the rifles mentioned are great. Buy whatever you can get your hands on. Edward made a great call if you want dependability, great features without spending a bunch of money with the Rossi. Savage makes a great gun, but the standard most semi auto rim fire rifles are compared to is the 10/22. Your asking a question that has no right answer. Just the answer for you not us.

  • I vote for the Mossberg Patriot synthetic line with the mounted Vortex scope all in ready to shoot for about $400.00.

  • All are good choices, but if you are looking for a budget rifle, consider the Rossi RS22, under $150, although it is out of stock right now. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/100165/rossi+usa+rs22+semi-auto+22+lr+18%22+black+synthetic+10%2b1

  • Isaac, I own a Savage and Ruger in 22lr. Both are quality rifles. My Savage is slightly more accurate compared to the Ruger but both function reliably. This will boil down to personal preference as they are all close in feature/function. Savage is know for out the box accuracy with a wide range of ammo. Cheers and stay safe!

  • I like the Ruger 10/22. There are very many "upgrades" available for it.
