  • Hi,
357 110 grain hollow points are perfectly fine for self-defense. I know a lot of people who use Corbon 110gr for self-defense. Some people believe that 135gr and the heavier bullet is better, performance-wise, but luckygunner research has shown that 110gr performs as well as heavier counter part. Just pick reputable brands. I hope this helps.

  • while they will work there are some people that believe that they are harder on the gun than a full power 158 grain load and that they promote "flame cutting" in some revolvers as the bullets are shorter and leave the case sooner in the firing cycle I prefer to satay with the Full bore 158 grain bullets. I have tried the light 110 grain rounds and they are not accurate in my guns (Dan Wesson and Ruger GP 100)

  • Vahe, it is sufficient for self defense as it has adequate power, lower perceived recoil for faster and more accurate follow up shots. That said, it is long proven that the 125gr 357 JHP is the threat stop king so I would practice and become proficient shooting it, especially if staking your life on it. Cheers and stay safe!
