  • What is the better ammo for critical defense, hollow point or ball ammo? Gun is a .32 caliber Beretta.

  • Jim, it depends on the situation. Summertime light clothing, wintertime heavy clothing. My grandfather taught me that for anything under a .380 to stagger load hollow points with ball ammunition with ball ammunition as the first shot for penetration. Cheers and stay safe!

  • Hi Jim,
Hollowpoint is better all the way for critical defense. However, not hollowpoint are created equal and you should research and find hollow point that are reliable in your .32 caliber Beretta and also can function (expand or mushroom) when engaging target with heavy clothing. I highly recommend CorBon 60gr for this. I hope this helps.
