Amanda, 22 Mag will give you more power, almost twice that of standard 22lr but at the cost of extra expense. I have both and enjoy the 22Mag much more for target shooting at longer distances and hunting small game. Cheers and stay safe!

Amanda, They are two totally different rounds. What do you want to use them for? What firearm? I like the 22 lr round for plinking. I don't have any purposeful use for 22 mag ammo. Too many other rounds to do what the 22 mag round does.

For self defense, 22 Mag. It's generally more reliable. For the simple joy of shooting - .22 LR.

What is 22 shells? From my experience .22 Mag a bit better than 22 LR in terms of reliability. But you also paying more for a round that has more recoil, expensive, and louder.
