I see both 7 and 8 round magazines. Are they gun specific? If I get an 8 round does the gun look different as in the mag sticking out or are they the same length jut different inside?

David, The main difference in the 7 vs 8 round mags is the shape and hight of the follower, and the extra witness hole. The mag body is the same size. If you take your mags apart you can see the difference in the followers between the (7 vs 8). Cheers and stay safe!
