  • I'm interested in purchasing a shot gun, from the web site but have never purchased a fire arm online, how does the shipping work? do I have to find a willing dealer so it can be shipped to them??? Thank you for the feed back.

  • James, welcome. The purchase process is as follows. Find the shotgun you want in stock - place it in your Cart and select Check Out - It will prompt for an FFL (you enter your Zip Code and mileage radius and select a local FFL) - select use as FFL Dealer - Continue and verify your address - Continue to Payment Method - Select and make your payment. Buds will email your order details and your part is done. Buds will secure the firearm and ship to your selected FFL Dealer along with your contact information. Once you are contacted, just go in and complete the paperwork and pay the transfer fee, usually $30 to $40, and you leave with your new firearm. Cheers and stay safe!

  • Yes, that is the gist of it. All interstate transfers of firearms need to take place between FFL (Federal Firearms License) dealers. The firearm is paid for and then shipped to that dealer and does not become yours until you meet with them and fill out a Form 4473 and anything additional that your state might require (the dealer will know and should have all these forms available for you). Depending on the dealer you use, it may or may not necessary to contact them prior to making a purchase to be sure that they are willing to accept the transfer. The dealers listed on this page in green have agreed to accept all transfers, however I still like to contact them anyway when I buy something just to be sure: budsgunshop.com/ffl.php When you go to the dealer you should just need to bring a driver's license, any permits required by your state for what you are purchasing (might be nothing depending on where you live), and a form of payment accepted by the dealer for the transfer fee.
