SAVAGE-STEVEN 555 BREECH LATCH

Received my new 20 gauge Stevens 20 ga., cleaned and assembled it. When I open the breech, while stiff I believe it will loosen up with usage. My concern is when I close the breech, I hear the click but the latch doesafetry, s not move all the way back to center of safety, but stays to the right a bit. Will this also loosen up with use or is this an issue?

Yes, I second what James said you'll have about 100 round break in period, after that there should be no issues. If problems persist after break in contact Savage customer service. Call (800) 370-0708

John, this will loosen up after approximately 100 or so rounds Sir. You should notice this after cleaning between 50rd shooting sessions. Cheers and stay safe!
